PREPARATIONS

Whether your child is 3, 6 or 8, their birthday is always a major event in their life. Expect your organisation to be challenged by children having fun.

Leave room for the unexpected, because it will bring children’s laughter and surprises that your child won’t forget.

First of all, download the Lightbody List.

Make a check list for your preparations:

• Date
• Theme
• Invitations
• Cake, drinks, sweets
• Activities
• Surprises
• Decorations

There’s so much to think about and organise, to make everything just perfect on the big day.

ON THE DAY

It’s time to try out the activities that you have prepared for the children to have fun together. It’s also time to eat the delicious chocolate cake decorated with your child’s favourite character.

As the clock strikes cake time, the first guests arrive:

• Welcome the guests.
• Show them to a room where there are a few toys to keep them waiting until everyone has arrived.
• Invite the children to some activities (suitable for their age) that you have carefully planned during the preliminary phase (see the Lightbody List).
• Keep track of the time but you don’t have to time every activity. Remember that the most important thing is for the children to enjoy themselves – and the cake, of course.

All you need to do now is relax and let the party unfold, camera at the ready. You can also make a short film that you can later sit and watch with the family.
